EOTD: Travel In The Comfort Zone
Cheap Thrills, Eyeshadow - September 13th, 2012

I bumped into some swatches/looks with the Wet N’ Wild Comfort Zone palette a few weeks ago, and decided that for $4.99, I SERIOUSLY needed to buy this palette. Talk about your cheap thrills!! Nouveau Cheap has some photos of it here. As an aside, I really need to get my hands on the Petal Pusher palette she uses in her post! I added Comfort Zone to my last Drugstore.com order (because I needed to throw something in for free shipping), but as a word of warning, this isn’t the best idea. The top right color broke up in transit, cue sad face now. Just trot yourself down to your nearest drugstore and buy it there instead.

ANYWAY. Today I tried out the left side colors, and I think it came out quite nice. Considering how freaking CHEAP this palette is, I’m pretty impressed with the formula. It does not suck. I pretty much followed the guidelines, so the eyelid shade went on the eyelid, the crease in the crease, and the browbone on the browbone and inner corners. I did add a little of the definer to the crease to kick it up a notch, though. The eyeliner is Victoria’s Secret Makeup eyeliner in Chocolate.

I used Detrivore Cosmetics’ blush in Thing. The lipstick is Ever Hip from MAC.

I’m pretty happy about this palette. The colors have worn perfectly over UDPP, no fading or creasing, despite my doing a lot of outdoor activities today.

you can fix the broken eye shadow, if you’re so inclined. with the end of a butter knife, gently break up the shadow until it’s powder. add rubbing alcohol to the powder a few drops at a time until wet, but not soaked. press with a firm object covered by a paper towel and let dry. i’ve fixed a couple of broken shadows this way and it works pretty well.

I totally would have, except the color wasn’t just broken, it was completely pulverized and spread all over the inside of the shipping box. :( There wasn’t anything left to fix.
