Cargo PlantLove Green Goddess Palette
Eyeshadow, Makeup Fun, Reviews - March 4th, 2009

Green GoddessI’ve been eyeing the Cargo PlantLove Green Goddess Palette since it came out. It is everything that I find fabulous in a makeup palette, and therefore eventually I had to have it. I’ve used it twice now since purchasing it, and I’m completely in PlantLove. (Yes, groan at the bad pun. Couldn’t help myself…lol.)

The palette contains four eyeshadows, and two blushes (although one is more of a highlighter). Unlike most other palettes, the packaging is made from sturdy cardboard, something I really appreciate. I hate tossing out all-plastic palettes when they are empty. The colors are soft, two shades of brown, a sage-y green, and a pink color. The blushes are a matte dark rose color and a golden, shimmery pink.

March 3 EyeThe eyeshadows are shimmery, but only the pink has any glitter to it. The pigmentation is really good so you get a lot of color. The inside of the lid has instructions for creating an easy eye look with the colors – use Beech on the lid, Bamboo in the crease, Lily on the brow bone, and Thyme on the lower lash line and inner corner of the eye. It looks very pretty and nice for spring! Clickie the piccie for a closer look. I’m using Stila Smudgepot in Broze for liner on the upper lash line, and Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara.

March 3 ClaireThe blushes complete the look. I especially like the Rose blush, it’s very flattering. The Peony shade makes a pretty highlighter, or could be used with a touch of bronzer for a more summery glow. In the photo I’m wearing Tarte ReCreate foundation, and nothing on my lips (I always forget when I take this pictures!). Also, geez I need to do something with my hair.

Overall, this was a great purchase. It would be fun to experiment with using the colors in other combinations for different looks or with other PlantLove shadows. I really want the shades called Ivy and Peacock, which could be fun to add to this palette. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for the Green Goddess Collection!
