Hot Lips - March 17th, 2009
The Body Shop has had a buy two get one free deal on their lip balms, so I picked up some to try. I’ve been really impressed with the Hemp Lip Protector, which I hadn’t tried before.
It’s a fairly simple formula, consisting of coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax, hemp seed oil, and vitamins E, A, and B. It also has clary sage essential oil, which gives it a light herbal scent and taste. The scent and taste is very mild though, barely noticeable.
What I like about it is that it is super-moisturizing and wears well. It’s also not greasy at all and works nicely under lipstick or lip gloss. It’s a slightly thicker formula than others I use, which means it doesn’t get as soft if I keep it in my pocket – a definite plus, since I do like to keep a lip balm in my pocket all the time. It definitely meets my expectations for an acceptable lip balm!
I really need to try this stuff out. I’ve been meaning to for a long time but I just never get around to it. Gotta love procrastination. lol
