Collective Wellbeing is a very cool skincare company. I really like their mission statements, which you can read here. In short, they strive to make effective products while giving back to communities and striving to make the world a better place. Lofty goals, but they try to make the point that all of us can do good by recognizing our individual actions and choices can and do add up.
Of the products I’ve tried so far, I can definitely say that they are doing a good job with the mission of making effective products. I’ve tried the Cleansing Paste and Hot Pore Cleansing Scrub, and I think they are both great!
The Cleansing Paste has oatmeal and raspberry extract, as well as almond meal, jojoba oil, aloe, and a host of other plant ingredients and an uplifting citrus scent. Despite the oatmeal and almond meal, it’s not excessively scrubby, but rather has a nice texture to it that helps sweep dirt and oils off your skin. It’s a creamier cleanser (as opposed to foamy) but rinses off very well without leaving residue. I just love how soft my skin feels after using it. It’s quite effective on makeup, although I am still using a separate eye makeup remover. At only $13 a tube it’s quite economical considering a little goes a long way. I highly recommend it!
Hot Pore Cleansing Scrub has a gimmicky name but delivers the goods. First, it has a mineral powder that heats up on contact with water, which helps open the pores (and feels so good!). Then, jojoba beads and activated charcoal sweep off dirt, dead skin, oils, etc and salicylic acid and retinol smooth the skin. I don’t find it drying at all, and my skin is left super smooth and clean. It’s not super-scrubby, but the jojoba wax beads feel pretty good on the skin. Overall, if you want a gentle scrub that gets the job done, check out Hot Pore. I give it two thumbs up.
I still have some moisturizers and body care to check out, but I’ll save those for another post.
