EOTD: Dormant Topiary
Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - July 15th, 2012

The other day I decided to do some eye makeup using purple. I was wanting to keep it low-key though, since that’s the mood I’ve been in. I decided to use a bright purple with taupe, using Detrivore Cosmetics colors for exactly the look I wanted.

The lid color is Topiary, a light brown taupe with white shimmer. The purple color is Dormant, deep blueish purple with heavy pink shimmer. I didn’t use a sticky base to really make the shimmers pop, so it’s more subtle. The highlight is Lobotomy, a sheer gold color. The eyeliner is L’Oreal HiP Violet Volt.

I’m wearing Detrivore’s Poison Blush, the perfect matte bright pink color. The lip gloss is Crazy Cat Lady from Brazen Cosmetics.

EOTD: Theo Greens
Cat, Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - March 18th, 2012

This was actually what I wore yesterday, since it was St. Patrick’s Day. I went with the traditional green, using a Brazen color as well as my ever-favorite super-awesome Theo from Black Rose Minerals. Bonus IRL Theo picture at the bottom of this post too!

The lid color is Theo. Theo, besides being my cat and my own specially requested color, is a light fawn with a green duochrome and green sparkles. Denial, from Brazen Cosmetics, is mostly a green color (with a bit of aqua) with aqua/blue/iridescent glitters. I think it will lean more green with other greens (like the green in Theo) and leans more blue if you wear it with blue. I used Divinity from Persephone Minerals to highlight.

The blush is Thing from Detrivore Cosmetics. The lipstick is Lollipop Loving from MAC. It was my first MAC lipstick, and still my favorite because of the green sheen.

It’s hard to tell, but that’s a large frying pan inside a paper bag that Theo is lying in. It was really funny, because he just LOVED it, like it was a new cat bed or something. Many jokes about having pan-cat for dinner were made.

EOTD: Ein Sorbet
Eyeshadow - Be the first to comment! - March 15th, 2012

Black Rose Minerals recently (well, I’m not sure how recently, but recently to me! LOL) released a collection based on Cowboy Bebop. Not so little known fact about Claire: I LOVE anime. I also love corgis. Therefore, I absolutely HAD TO HAVE the color Ein, named after the data dog in the show. Also, it looked like a freakin’ AWESOME color. Today’s eyeshadow uses Ein, together with one of my favorite orange colors.

Ein is beautiful. It’s a light gold that shimmers with a touch of golden glitter. ZOMG. The orange is Blood Orange Sorbet from Persephone Minerals. Blood Orange Sorbet is a bright orange with a slight red overcast & orange crystallina glitters. It’s a really nice complex orange color. The highlight is Ice Princess from Pumpkin & Poppy. This is quickly becoming my new favorite highlight color, due to its overall awesomeness.

The blush is Thing from Detrivore Cosmetics. If you don’t own Thing yet, you need it. It’s pale, peachy, shimmery 100% pure amazing. Also, it’s flattering on just about everyone.

The lipgloss is Brazen’s Epiphany.

EOTD: EctoPixie
Best Of, Eyeshadow - Comments (4) - March 11th, 2012

Hey guess what? Guess what? I’m so excited! Detrivore Cosmetics brought back, for a limited time, one of my favorite Detrivore colors! It’s Ectoplasma, this stupendous bright green that I lurve. To celebrate, and encourage you to GO GET IT NOW BEFORE IT’S GONE, I used it today.

Ectoplasma is a bright green with some shimmer to it. I love it because it’s so bright but it doesn’t looke like puke on my skin (I tend to be sallow). Because I haven’t done green and purple in forever, I used Pixie from Madd Style in the crease. Pixie is a purple color with gold sparkles. I used Pixie Epoxy for extra sparkle-stick. The highlight is Ice Princess from Pumpkin & Poppy.

The blush is Mesmerize from Fyrinnae. Mesmerize is a medium berry color, very pretty. The lip gloss is Epiphany from Brazen Cosmetics.

Perfume of the day: Victoria’s Secret Gilded Ginger Crème body spray.

EOTD: Grey Skies
Eyeshadow, Hot Lips - Comments (7) - March 1st, 2012

The weather has been a little crazy, with actual snow hitting the ground last night (although it didn’t last past mid-morning). So this eye makeup is dedicated to grey skies and late winter cold dreariness. I used some more Brazen colors, and went with a nice bright lip color to offset all the grey.

The color on the lid is Iced, from Brazen Cosmetics. Iced is a sparkly light grey color, and I love how opaque it is. It’s really a great color! The crease color is Label Whore from Too Faced, a dark grey-brown with a strong green-blue iridescence. I just LOVE this color and always forget I have it (although I have several that are quite similar). I used Ice Princess, a limited edition color from Pumpkin & Poppy to highlight. I really wish I’d written about this color sooner, just so you readers still had a chance to buy it! edited to add: It’s a permanent color now! Go get it! It’s so pretty, a creamy white with gold, orange and red duochrome with silver sparkle. It’s a really pretty highlight color. As long as I was digging out sadly neglected products, I chose my BADgal kohl liner pencil from Benefit to use on the upper and lower lashline. BADgal isn’t as dark and rich on the waterline as kohl powder, but it’s easier to use and almost as good.

I decided to use Millenium eyeshadow (also from Brazen) on my cheeks, for something more subtle than blush. Millenium is a beautiful pink champagne color that gives a nice sheen on the cheeks. It worked nicely since I was planning on doing a bold lip color and I didn’t want it to be too much with the dark eye makeup.

The lip gloss is Brazen’s Paint The Town, from their collection of glosses inspired by cocktails. Isn’t it HAWT?!? It’s a hot raspberry pink with purple sparkles and color shifting glitter. It tastes like a red headed slut, yum! (LOL.)

What are your favorite colors to wear on a nasty, wintry day?

EOTD: Brazen Beauty
Eyeshadow, Hot Lips - Comments (1) - February 23rd, 2012

I really signed up for Brazen Cosmetics’ affiliate program, called Brazen Beauties. I’m happy to be part of their affiliate program, because I’ve been really pleased with Brazen’s products as well as the service. Also, the owner is awesome!!

Today’s eye makeup is all Brazen, as is my lip gloss. Let’s get started!

The lid color is Iced, a metallic light grey with a lot of sparkle. It’s a nice opaque color, and I like how it blends. The crease is Karma, a bright purple shade with gold & purple sparkles and a hint of green sheen. I am in love with this purple, because of how complex it is. The highlight color is Millenium, a pink champagne color with a violet sheen and violet sparkles. The eyeliner on the upper lashline is Milani Infinite liquid liner in Endless. On the lower lashline, I smudged some more Karma eyeshadow.

The lip gloss is something I’m really excited about. It’s Crazy Cat Lady, a limited edition gloss from the Valentine’s collections. It’s still on the site though, so if you like this color, GO SNATCH IT UP! Crazy Cat Lady is a purple fuchsia gloss. The Brazen gloss formula is rapidly becoming one of my favorites – it has a nice texture, a bit on the thick side but not super-sticky. It smells like cupcakes. Yum.

Today Luna and I went to Uwajimaya and then to Ulta. I got some more Lucido-L product for hair, the “smash fixer” this time. I can’t wait to try it!

EOTD: Imaginary Viola
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - February 15th, 2012

I wanted to try out another color I got recently from RockABetty Beauty, Imaginary Friend. It’s a delicious pink color! Is it possible to own too many pink colors? Naw, never mind. That’s crazy talk. Incidentally, I’ve had this song stuck in my head all day. It’s a pink, pink, pink, pink, pink moon…

Imaginary Friend is pink with silver and aqua sparkles and tons of turquoise glitter. Use it with a sticky base to really make the sparklies sparkle! I used Viola, from Brazen Cosmetics as the crease color. Viola is a brownish purple with brilliant sparkles. Depending on what you wear it with, it’ll look more or less purple. With this pink color, it’s definitely leaning more purple than brown. My Pretty Zombie’s Law Firm Lamb Cake is the highlight. The eyeliner is Milani Infinite Liquid Liner in Endless. On the lower lashline, I used Chivalry, from Morgana Cryptoria. It’s a lavender color with green sparkles.

Today’s blush is Forbidden from Silk Naturals. This is a GREAT color. I want a lip color in this color too. I’m wearing Epiphany gloss from Brazen Cosmetics. Epiphany is a clear gloss with a ton of purple shimmer. I LOVE this color. I’m so excited because I ordered Crazy Cat Lady, a Valentine’s limited edition gloss from Brazen… I love the formula!

Valentine’s Round-Up
Etsy, Shopping - Be the first to comment! - January 27th, 2012

I’m such a sucker for Valentine’s Day stuff. It’s usually cute, pink, fun, and romantic, all my favorite things. I’ve been window shopping this year, and a lot of places have some fun stuff! This isn’t meant to be a comprehensive review of Valentine’s offerings, but rather a selection of things I’m most tempted by…

Brazen Cosmetics has a whole Valentine’s section – OMG! I think I need Crazy Cat Lady lip gloss on principle, and the Screw Cupid collection is HAWT!

Black Rose Minerals has the Love Me… Love Me trio of colors that are super-soft and feminine looking. I want all three, they’re a beautiful set.

Shiro Cosmetics has My Nerdy Valentine, which has lip stuff, cheek stuff, AND eye stuff!

I’ve never tried Darling Clandestine, but they come highly recommended by my friends. Through Saturday (git to shoppin’!) the code TRUELOVE will take 50% off anything in the shop, in celebration of the shop owner’s brother’s wedding! Isn’t that romantic?

It’s not makeup, but I wanted to point out this beautiful Jet heart necklace from Whimsy Beading – it would make a lovely gift for someone!

Any awesome Valentine’s stuff I’m missing and MUST SEE?!?
