EOTD: Lividity Reanimation
Eyeshadow - Comments Off - October 16th, 2012

I’ve done the purple and pink thing before, but I come back to it a lot because I really like it. It’s the whole Chesire Cat connotation, I think. Detrivore makes a really nice dark, sparkly pink/purple which I picked to go with a pretty Meow pink color.

The lid color is Reanimation, a cool pink with silver sparkle and icy iridescence, from Meow Cosmetics. It’s from the Zombie Apocalypse collection. In the crease, I put Lividity, a dark pink shimmery eye shadow on a black base (officially it’s called pink, but it reads purple on my skin). It’s limited edition, so I don’t know how long it will be around. It’s totally awesome though, I highly recommend it. I used a Sephora eyeshadow called Aspen Summit in the inner corners and under the browbone. I used a wet brush to line the upper and lower lashlines with more Lividity. It deepens up when it’s wet. It’s also quite sparkly, although the sparkles don’t photograph well. They were definitely there though!

The blush is Detrivore’s Lascivious. I’m not tired of this color yet, lol. The lipstick is MAC Style Curve.

EOTD: Meow Halloween
Eyeshadow - Comments (3) - October 9th, 2012

I was feeling dramatic today, so I decided to use some of Meow Cosmetics’ Halloween colors. Also, because they’re available RIGHT NOW! (So go order some if you dig any of these shades…) Meow’s fall and winter offerings are my favorites that they offer, probably because I just love rich, deep colors and jewel tones. I have to decide which ones to order this year…

I used Coven, from the Halloween Zombies, in the inner half of the lid. Coven is a blue-black with golden teal iridescence. The outer half of the lid is Sinister, also from Halloween Zombies. Sinister is a dark burnished red with gold sparkle and red iridescence. The crease color is Grim Reaper, from the X collection. Grim Reaper is a dark silky charcoal with maroons iridescence and red fire. I also used Grim Reaper on the upper and lower lashlines. On the waterline, I put L’Oreal HiP Kohl Eyeliner in black. In the inner corners and under the browbone, I used Skelecat, another Halloween Zombie color. Skelecat is a white with gold and green iridescence.

Today’s blush is from Detrivore Cosmetics, and it’s NEW!!! It’s Lascivious, and it’s so pretty. Lascivious is a soft shimmery pink shade, very flattering. (The other new blush, Criminal, is also ZOMG amazingly flattering. I *heart* Detrivore blushes!)

The lipstick is MAC Kittenish.

EOTD: Skelecat LSD
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - July 6th, 2012

I’m a little late posting this, but anyway. This is the makeup I did for the 4th of July. I wanted to wear some brighter colors and sparkles, so this worked out well. Unfortunately, my allergies went haywire about an hour after I put on makeup and it got all smeary. I was not happy. Stupid allergies. Anyway, I used colors from Meow Cosmetics, Black Rose Minerals, and My Pretty Zombie, and at least I got good pictures before the allergy attack!

In the inner corners I used Meow’s Skelecat, a white gold with greenish iridescence. Skelecat is from the Halloween Zombies collection. The outer corners are Lemon Bar, from Black Rose Minerals. Lemon Bar is a shiny golden yellow. The crease color is My Pretty Zombie’s LSD, a muted gray plum with a groovy red to gold shift. The highlight color is Law Firm Lamb Cake, also from MPZ. Law Firm Lamb Cake has a pink shimmer base and pastel multi colored glitter. I used Pixie Epoxy to make the glitter really stick. I used L’Oreal HiP Kohl Eyeliner in black on the waterline, and a discontinued L’Oreal HiP pencil on the upper lashline (it’s a burgundy color).

The blush is Thing, from Detrivore Cosmetics. You need Thing. It’s a pale peachy shimmery color that looks good on everyone. The lipstick is Viva Glam Cyndi from MAC.

EOTD: Dour Coma
Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - July 3rd, 2012

Despite it being summer, it was mostly overcast today and I felt gloomy. So, I decided some dark, dark eye makeup was just the thing to match my mood. I rustled through my stash and came up with some appropriately darkened purples that were perfect. Black Rose Minerals (who is having a 4th of July sale btw) has a great almost-black violet that was perfect, along with a dark plum from Meow Cosmetics.

The lid color is Dour, from Meow Cosmetics. Dour is from the Shattered Equinox collection, and is a midnight plum with golden sheen. This color is seriously beautiful! I used Coma Black from Black Rose Minerals in the crease. Coma Black, from the Luciferi collection, is a darkly deep violet. I used Pixie Epoxy underneath to make sure that all the sparkles and shimmers from both these colors really stuck on. The picture isn’t doing Coma Black proper justice, it’s definitely got a strong purple sheen. The highlight is Ice Princess, from Pumpkin & Poppy. I used L’Oreal HiP Kohl Eyeliner in black on the waterline, and essence’s I Love Rock Gloss Eye Pencil on the upper lashline. I really love this glossy black pencil, btw. I patted more Coma Black on top of the glossy pencil, as well as using it on the lower lashline.

The blush is Mesmerize, from Fyrinnae. Mesmerize is a medium berry shade with no brown tones. The lipstick is Aristo-cat from MAC.

EOTD: Tiger Lily Valley
Cat, Complexion, Eyeshadow - Comments Off - June 17th, 2012

Rosa, the sweetheart who owns Black Rose Minerals heard Tiger Lily (Theo’s fur-sister) was jealous that Theo had his own eyeshadow color. After all, she’s the princess in the household. So Rosa made Tiger Lily, this absolutely beautiful color. It’s sweet but fierce, just like my kitteh.

Tiger Lily is a neutral peachy tan with just a touch of pinky red sparkles. I used it over Pixie Epoxy to really make the sparkles stick. I wore it with Death Valley, another new color I bought recently. Death Valley is a deep metallic bronze with just a touch of pink glitter. I love the pink glitter in this color! I used Lobotomy from Detrivore to highlight. The eyeliner is from VS Makeup, in Dark Chocolate.

Black Rose Minerals is offering blush now, so of course I had to try it! I picked out Radical, a sweet coral pink with a touch of golden shine. It’s so pretty! The lip color is Budding Beauty Lipgelee from MAC.

Of course, I had to include a picture of the girl herself – this is Tiger Lily, aka Tigsy!

EOTD: Theo Thundernuts
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - May 12th, 2012

I’ve been feeling like wearing more neutral colors lately, but not too neutral. I used my beloved Theo with Thundernuts from My Pretty Zombie, because both have some fun colored sparkles going on.

Theo, from Black Rose Minerals, is a light fawn with a green duochrome and green sparkles. You can now buy Theo in a super-awesome collection! Thundernuts is a light brown with a blue shift (it sparkles too!). Use a sticky base for maximum sparklage from both these colors. I used Divinity from Persephone Minerals to highlight. The eyeliner is VS Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate.

The blush color is Clotted and Thing, both from Detrivore Cosmetics, mixed together. The lipstick is Funbathing from MAC.

EOTD: Sunday Face
Eyeshadow - Comments Off - April 5th, 2012

I went out to have some beers with my husband and a friend on Sunday, and managed to get myself done up proper to have a good time. I decided to use some MAC colors I have since I felt like wearing greys. Both colors are from a past holiday pigment set.

The lid color is Silver Fog, a bright silver with a nearly metallic shine. The crease is Softwash Grey, a cool-toned, blue-purple gray with a slight metallic sheen. The highlight is Kingslayer from Geek Chic Cosmetics. I wore a black with sparkles eyeliner from L’Oreal.

The blush is also MAC, the Briar Rose Beauty Powder. I’m wearing Minted Rose Rosebud Salve on my lips.

EOTD: Theo Greens
Cat, Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - March 18th, 2012

This was actually what I wore yesterday, since it was St. Patrick’s Day. I went with the traditional green, using a Brazen color as well as my ever-favorite super-awesome Theo from Black Rose Minerals. Bonus IRL Theo picture at the bottom of this post too!

The lid color is Theo. Theo, besides being my cat and my own specially requested color, is a light fawn with a green duochrome and green sparkles. Denial, from Brazen Cosmetics, is mostly a green color (with a bit of aqua) with aqua/blue/iridescent glitters. I think it will lean more green with other greens (like the green in Theo) and leans more blue if you wear it with blue. I used Divinity from Persephone Minerals to highlight.

The blush is Thing from Detrivore Cosmetics. The lipstick is Lollipop Loving from MAC. It was my first MAC lipstick, and still my favorite because of the green sheen.

It’s hard to tell, but that’s a large frying pan inside a paper bag that Theo is lying in. It was really funny, because he just LOVED it, like it was a new cat bed or something. Many jokes about having pan-cat for dinner were made.
