EOTD: She Bop Toxicity
Cat, Eyeshadow - Comments Off - October 15th, 2013

I was wearing a black shirt to work the other day, so I decided I needed a pop of color on my eyelids. Madd Style’s She Bop was just the thing, toned down with some browns so it didn’t get too crazy. Also, pink and brown has always been a favorite combo of mine.

I put She Bop on the lid. She Bop is a deep pink color with a silvery shimmer and TONS of aqua glitter. Using a sticky base will help the glitters stick better. As it is, a lot of them disappear. (Which is fine, for work…) The crease is Toxicity, from Detrivore Cosmetics. Toxicity is a dark brown satin with a blue and pink shimmer. It’s super-pretty. I used Detrivore’s Lobotomy to highlight in the inner corners and under the brow. The eyeliner is a brown pencil from Givenchy.

The blush is limited edition coral-y color from MAC, and I’m wearing Fresh’s Sugar Shine Lip Treatment like the chin fillers you can easily get online.

Since it’s been a while, here’s a bonus Theo picture! He’s such a snoozy boy.

EOTD: She Juiced
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - May 13th, 2012

The weather has been amazing in Portland this week, so I decided to do some fun “summer” kinds of things with my makeup. This was today’s effort, involving two of my favorite colors from Silk Naturals and an awesome hot pink.

The pale gold color is Juiced, from Silk Naturals. Juiced is a pale gold with suede pearl finish, and a fair amount of gold glimmer. I used a sticky base for maximum glimmer adhesion. Heat is a deep coppery orange tone with a silky pearl finish. I put Heat in the outer corners. The hot pink color is She Bop from Madd Style Cosmetics. She Bop is a bright, deep pink color with a silvery shimmer and aqua glitter. The highlight is Kingslayer from Geek Chic Cosmetics. The eyeliner on the upper lashline is Milani’s Infinite Liquid Liner in Forever. The lower lashline is a taupe eye pencil (it’s a discontinued color).

I mixed my Lush Colour Supplement with moisturizer today rather than my usual mineral foundation. I did brush on some mattifying powder on top though. The blush is Orchid Convertible Color from Stila – which they don’t seem to carry anymore. It’s a deep plum kind of color.

The lip gloss is Gloss Pur from Yves Saint Laurent and is 04 Pure Raspberry. I don’t wear it nearly enough, it’s a fun color for summer.

EOTD: Monster Gangrene
Cheap Thrills, Eyeshadow - Comments Off - April 17th, 2012

I got some new colors from Detrivore Cosmetics recently! I was feeling in a green mood, so I used some green eyeshadows and a new pink blush. I also got a new lip gloss from essence to try.

The lid color is Gangrene from Detrivore Cosmetics. Gangrene is a soft pastel green/teal eye shadow. It’s so pretty! It has a satin-y texture and really nice color payoff. The darker green color is Tank Girl, from Madd Style Cosmetics. Tank Girl is an army green color with a lot of sparkle and glitter. I didn’t use a sticky base, so it’s not super-sparkly in the pictures. The highlight is Lobotomy, also from Detrivore. The eyeliner is Physicians Formula Organic Wear Eyeliner in Black Olive.

The blush is Indecent, a new addition to my Detrivore blush collection. I LOVE THIS COLOR. It’s a deep vivid pink matte blush.

The lip gloss is from essence cosmetics, a drugstore brand that is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. It’s European, the quality is great, and the prices are so cheap! It’s Stay With Me Long-Lasting Lip Gloss in the color My Favorite Milkshake. It’s a milky pale pink. Despite the name, this is not really a “long-wear” product like L’Oreal’s Infallible line. But that’s okay. For under three bucks, I don’t care.

I’m thinking of dyeing my hair back to brown. I’m getting tired of blonde.

EOTD: Purple Sunday
Eyeshadow - Comments (3) - April 12th, 2012

It was another beer date! LOL. This seems to be the hip thing to do on a Sunday around here. I’m wearing purple and blue from Madd Style Cosmetics, highlighted with a bit of gold.

The lid color is Illuminati. Illuminati is a silvery purple with green iridescence and blue glitter. The green isn’t very pronounced, especially if you don’t pair it with green. The crease color is Foux Du Fafa, a cornflower blue with lots of copper and gold glitz. I love the glitters in this one – use a sticky base so they really stay on! The highlight is Lobotomy, from Detrivore Cosmetics. The eyeliner is L’Oreal HiP Eyeliner in Violet Volt.

On my cheeks I have Poison blush, also from Detrivore. I love this light pink color. I brushed a sparkly powder from Stila on top for extra fun. The lip color is Sugar Kisser Slicker from Silk Naturals.

EOTD: EctoPixie
Best Of, Eyeshadow - Comments (4) - March 11th, 2012

Hey guess what? Guess what? I’m so excited! Detrivore Cosmetics brought back, for a limited time, one of my favorite Detrivore colors! It’s Ectoplasma, this stupendous bright green that I lurve. To celebrate, and encourage you to GO GET IT NOW BEFORE IT’S GONE, I used it today.

Ectoplasma is a bright green with some shimmer to it. I love it because it’s so bright but it doesn’t looke like puke on my skin (I tend to be sallow). Because I haven’t done green and purple in forever, I used Pixie from Madd Style in the crease. Pixie is a purple color with gold sparkles. I used Pixie Epoxy for extra sparkle-stick. The highlight is Ice Princess from Pumpkin & Poppy.

The blush is Mesmerize from Fyrinnae. Mesmerize is a medium berry color, very pretty. The lip gloss is Epiphany from Brazen Cosmetics.

Perfume of the day: Victoria’s Secret Gilded Ginger Crème body spray.

EOTD: Pisces & Putrid
Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - March 8th, 2012

This is actually from yesterday, but I’m a little slow getting these things posted. I felt like wearing green colors, so I pulled a few favorites together. The barista at Starbucks said it was pretty :)

I put Pisces from Madd Style in the inner corners. Pisces is a light aquamarine with a warm gold duo chrome. I used Pixie Epoxy to make things stick, which makes it turn more gold. The outer corners are Narf from Black Rose Minerals. Narf is a light teal almost green color. It’s super-pretty. I put Putrid from Detrivore Cosmetics in the crease. Putrid is a dark green color. The highlight is Divinity from Persephone Minerals. It’s a pale, glowing green.

I used my favorite green eyeliner pencil, the Physicians Formula Organic Wear in Black Olive. The blush is Thing, from Detrivore. It’s srsly one of my favorite blush colors ever. I’m wearing MAC lipstick in Ever Hip.

Scent of the day is Verbena Summer Secret from L’Occitane.

EOTD: My Little Pony…
Eyeshadow, Makeup Fun - Comments (6) - February 12th, 2012

My on-going fight with depression continues, which is why the EOTDs have been few and far between around here lately. I’m going to try to remedy that, because actually doing my makeup does make me feel better. But it’s hard to talk myself into making the effort, and then I feel bad, and then I really can’t make the effort… cycle, meet vicious. ANYWAY. I promised myself I wouldn’t let this week’s Toxid-Lotus makeup challenge go by though, and also I don’t want Luna to yell at me. HI LUNA! LOOK, I DID IT!

This week’s theme is My Little Pony. I was a HUGE fan of My Little Pony when I was a kid in the 80′s. I had several. My eye makeup isn’t based on any one pony, but rather just an homage to the bright fun colors.

I put Seedless from Madd Style Cosmetics in the inner corners. Seedless is a bubble gum pink with green glitter and a green duo chrome. Next, I used Linnaeus Cosmetics’ Pollywog in the center of my eyelids. Pollywog is a light aqua with a greenish golden shimmer. The outer corners are Ru Blue, a medium shimmery cobalt blue, also from Linnaeus. I put Linnaeus’ Reef (a shimmery coral color) in the crease. Unicorn Pee, from My Pretty Zombie, is the highlight. I couldn’t NOT use Unicorn Pee, when the theme is My Little Pony, right??

I used Poison blush, from Detrivore Cosmetics. The lipstick is Viva Glam Gaga, from MAC.

Next week’s makeup challenge is Butts. I’m doing Daffodils. So There.

EOTD: Zombie Seedless Cupcake
Cat, Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - January 21st, 2012

I’m in a funny mood today. The weather can’t decide what it wants to do and I’m just vacillating between feeling okay and horribly depressed. Getting myself prettied up can help lift some of the grey fog, so I pushed myself to do my makeup today. I’m happy with how it came out and do feel somewhat better. I started with Seedless from Madd Style Cosmetix, and then decided to work Cupcake Zombie and PB & Chocolate Cupcake from Candy’s Sweet Treats into the mix somehow.

Seedless is a baby pink with green sparkles and duochrome. It’s one of my favorite colors because I love the green duochrome. I put Seedless in the inner corners. The outer corners are PB & Chocolate Cupcake, a tan color with golden glitter. The crease is Cupcake Zombie, a dark green with lime and red glitter. I used Vanilla Bean Cupcake on the browbone to highlight. The eyeliner is Physicians Formula Organic Wear Eyeliner in Black Olive.

Today’s blush is Gallows from Detrivore Cosmetics. Gallows is a deep pinkish red shade with a satin texture and shimmer. It’s really pretty!! I didn’t feeling like wearing much lip color today, so I’m just wearing Mocha Rose lip balm.

And just because it’s Caturday, bonus Theo photo!
