EOTD: Little Green Theos
Cat, Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - February 4th, 2013
Having gone through various shades of browns this week, and then purple, I decided that today’s makeup needed to feature green colors. I used my always-favorite color Theo from Black Rose Minerals, as well as a Meow Cosmetics green. Bonus today: A picture of Theo!
I put Theo, a light fawn with a green duochrome and green sparkles, on the lid. The crease color is Little Green Men, a Halloween color from Meow Cosmetics. Little Green Men is a sparkly pine green with flashes of green sparkle and iridescence. It’s a great dark green. I used Lobotomy, from Detrivore Cosmetics, to highlight. The eyeliner is Milani Cosmetics’ Liquid Eye Mechanical Eyeliner in Green.
The blush is Thing, a pale peachy color, from Detrivore. The lip color is Shiro Cosmetics’ Why Not Zoidberg? Intertube. Isn’t it the best coral-y color?
I snapped a quick pic of Theo the other morning, looking all handsome.
EOTD: Burnt Turkey Meow
Eyeshadow - Comments (3) - November 23rd, 2012
This was Thanksgiving’s eye makeup, and naturally I HAD to use one of my favorite Meow Cosmetics’ colors – Burnt Turkey. It’s from the 12 Pains of Xmas collection, and I like it enough I bought a full-size two years ago. Let me take a moment to say that the holiday time is MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR FOR MEOW COLORS. (My second favorite is Halloween.) I LOVE LOVE LOVE Meow’s holiday collections, and am powerless to resist ordering more each year.
The lid color is Joy, from the Holiday Wishes collection. Joy is a golden color with some red sparks going on. It’s another one of my Meow full sizes. Burnt Turkey is a metallic charcoal with umber and gold iridescent undertone, which I used in the crease. It’s soooo pretty, one of my favorite dark brown type colors. I used Faye, from Black Rose Minerals to highlight. The eyeliner is Benefit’s Bad Gal Kohl Pencil.
I used Detrivore Cosmetics’ Thing blush. Thing is a shimmery peach blush, very very flattering. Today (November 23rd) only, Detrivore is offering 50% off, so GO GO GO!
The lipstick is Awake Cosmetics’ Autumn Red.
EOTD: A Meow Two-fer
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - October 25th, 2012
I’m a little behind on posting my EOTDs. Whoops. Life, how does it work? Anyway, I have two looks using Meow Cosmetics’ Autumn-y stuff, so I figured I’d kill two birds with one stone and post them together. Unfortunately, I didn’t take good notes so I don’t remember what all exactly I used. Bad Claire!
The first is Meow’s Xenophobe with Bad Luck. Xenophobe is a shimmery khaki/taupe with gray undertones, and it’s super pretty! Bad Luck is a golden bronzed toffee with orange iridescence twinged with warm russet undertones. I really like this color, and I’m tempted to get a full size. I can’t remember which Detrivore blush I’m wearing, but I think it’s Lascivious. The lipstick is MAC Bubblegum.
This second look is Meow’s Lunation and Autumnal. Lunation is a metallic umber/cinnamon with gold iridescence. Autumnal is a warm bronzed amber with golden iridescence. I’m really happy with both these colors. The whole Harvest Moon collection is really pretty! It’s got some nice Fall colors.
The blush is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat. The lipgloss is Silk Naturals Kisser Slicker in Sugar.
Meow has a 15% off sale going on right now and all the Halloween stuff will be disappearing after October 31st!
EOTD: Lividity Reanimation
Eyeshadow - Be the first to comment! - October 16th, 2012
I’ve done the purple and pink thing before, but I come back to it a lot because I really like it. It’s the whole Chesire Cat connotation, I think. Detrivore makes a really nice dark, sparkly pink/purple which I picked to go with a pretty Meow pink color.
The lid color is Reanimation, a cool pink with silver sparkle and icy iridescence, from Meow Cosmetics. It’s from the Zombie Apocalypse collection. In the crease, I put Lividity, a dark pink shimmery eye shadow on a black base (officially it’s called pink, but it reads purple on my skin). It’s limited edition, so I don’t know how long it will be around. It’s totally awesome though, I highly recommend it. I used a Sephora eyeshadow called Aspen Summit in the inner corners and under the browbone. I used a wet brush to line the upper and lower lashlines with more Lividity. It deepens up when it’s wet. It’s also quite sparkly, although the sparkles don’t photograph well. They were definitely there though!
The blush is Detrivore’s Lascivious. I’m not tired of this color yet, lol. The lipstick is MAC Style Curve.
EOTD: Gray Glory
Eyeshadow - Be the first to comment! - October 15th, 2012
I seem to be drawn to the same colors, over and over again. I actually started a spreadsheet to keep track of what I own (both eyeshadow samples and full sizes) because I kept ordering duplicates – especially with Meow Cosmetics. But a spreadsheet only works if you consult it before hitting the order button. Which is all a roundabout way of saying I placed an order with Meow on Columbus Day and managed to order THREE duplicate samples. DOOOOOH! The good news I like the colors a lot and I’m not sad to have duplicates.
My husband suggested I wear some “sparkly browns” to match the blouse I was wearing, so I was happy to take his suggestion. I used Glory, from Silk Naturals, on the lid. Glory has a base of taupe with golden highlights, that’s punctuated with glints of green, copper, peach, and gold. It is SUPER PRETTY, especially with a sticky base like Pixie Epoxy. I used Gray Matter, from Meow Cosmetics, in the crease. I now own TWO samples of Gray Matter, so it’s a good thing I REALLY like the color. Gray Matter is a sparkly mauve gray with hot cherry sheen. I used Garland, a Bare Escentuals color, to highlight the inner corners and under the browbone. Using a damp brush, I lined the upper and lower lashlines with Badger, from Shiro Cosmetics.
The blush is Bloodbath, from Detrivore Cosmetics. The lipstick is L’Oreal Colour Riche in Chocolate Spice.
Gray Matter is from Meow Cosmetics’ Alien Abduction collection, which will disappear after Halloween!
EOTD: Tank Runes
Eyeshadow - Comments (3) - October 14th, 2012
Today’s eyeshadow features a color from Black Rose Minerals’ Luciferi collection. All the Luciferi colors are pretty blackened shades, and this green one is a particular favorite. I also used a Madd Style Cosmetics color and some more Meow Cosmetics.
The lid color is Tank Girl, from Madd Style Cosmetics. It’s an army green with hot pink and kelly green glitter. The crease color is Runes, from Black Rose Minerals. Runes is a forest green with a black base. I also used Runes with a damp brush to line the upper and lower lashlines. The highlight color is Skelecat, from Meow Cosmetics. I used the BADgal kohl pencil from Benefit to deepen up the eyeliner as well.
I used Detivore Cosmetics’ Criminal blush. The shimmery beige color is rapidly becoming my favorite blush ever. The lipstick is L’Oreal Colour Riche in Chocolate Spice.
EOTD: Flash Accident
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - October 10th, 2012
Since it’s available for purchase now, I wanted to to show off another cool Meow Cosmetics color from the Friday the 13th collection: Accident. I used it with one of my favorite Silk Naturals colors and a new blush from Detrivore Cosmetics.
Accident is a metallic copper shade with a dark undertone and gleaming metallic iridescent fire. It’s really, really pretty. If I can scrape up the dough, I want to get this in a full size before the end of the month. BTW, if any of the Friday the 13th colors appeal, get ‘em before the end of October because you’ll have to wait until September 2013 before it’ll be back again. Flash, from Silk Naturals, is one of those great neutral colors with lots of shimmer. It’s a complex gold color with a hint of silver and diamond pearl. It pairs nicely with a variety of colors, so it’s a good neutral to have in your collection. I use Peepshow from My Pretty Zombie in the inner corners and under the browbone. The eyeliner is from L’Oreal, a discontinued burgundy color.
Detrivore’s two new blush shades are awesomely awesome. I’ll admit, they look pretty “meh” in the jar. But put them on, and they are just wonderfully flattering and subtle. They are perfect for anyone who wants easy-to-wear, subtle colors that enhance your complexion. Criminal, what I’m wearing here, is just a subtle flush of color. It is a great everyday goes with everything kind of blush.
The lip color is Nars lipgloss in Rose Birman.
EOTD: Meow Halloween
Eyeshadow - Comments (3) - October 9th, 2012
I was feeling dramatic today, so I decided to use some of Meow Cosmetics’ Halloween colors. Also, because they’re available RIGHT NOW! (So go order some if you dig any of these shades…) Meow’s fall and winter offerings are my favorites that they offer, probably because I just love rich, deep colors and jewel tones. I have to decide which ones to order this year…
I used Coven, from the Halloween Zombies, in the inner half of the lid. Coven is a blue-black with golden teal iridescence. The outer half of the lid is Sinister, also from Halloween Zombies. Sinister is a dark burnished red with gold sparkle and red iridescence. The crease color is Grim Reaper, from the X collection. Grim Reaper is a dark silky charcoal with maroons iridescence and red fire. I also used Grim Reaper on the upper and lower lashlines. On the waterline, I put L’Oreal HiP Kohl Eyeliner in black. In the inner corners and under the browbone, I used Skelecat, another Halloween Zombie color. Skelecat is a white with gold and green iridescence.
Today’s blush is from Detrivore Cosmetics, and it’s NEW!!! It’s Lascivious, and it’s so pretty. Lascivious is a soft shimmery pink shade, very flattering. (The other new blush, Criminal, is also ZOMG amazingly flattering. I *heart* Detrivore blushes!)
The lipstick is MAC Kittenish.
