EOTD: Spring Greens
Eyeshadow - Be the first to comment! - April 4th, 2013

Last month I picked up a new Wet N’ Wild palette which caught my eye. It’s a limited edition palette called Going In The Wild – you can see some great pics and swatches here. I really love these 8 pan Wet N’ Wild palettes, this is the third one I’ve bought… they’re so inexpensive!! I bought this one because I just looooove that mint green color – I’m such a sucker for it! The purples are pretty too, but it was the green that suckered me in. I decided to play with it today, and paired it with a favorite Linnaeus Cosmetics darker green.

The lid color is the mint green from the Going In The Wild palette. Used over Urban Decay Primer Potion, it actually has pretty good color payoff, in my opinion. The crease color is Vex, from Linnaeus Cosmetics. Vex is a shimmering green-turquoise, almost blue depending on the light. I really miss Linnaeus Cosmetics a lot. I really hope they come back again someday, so I can throw some more money at them. The highlight color is Buttercream Bliss, from Persephone Minerals. I used Milani Liquid Eye eyeliner in Aqua.

The blush is Poison, from Detrivore Cosmetics. The lipgloss is Sintillation Lipgelee from MAC.

EOTD: Theo Baleen
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - October 6th, 2012

I felt like doing green the other day, and realized I haven’t used Detrivore Cosmetics’ lovely new green Baleen, so… voila! A look with Baleen!

Baleen is a really pretty shimmery emerald green color, which I used in the crease. I didn’t use a sticky base to really capture the sparkles, but they’re there. It’s limited edition, but still available. I highly recommend snatching it up! I used it with Black Rose Minerals’ Theo (of course) on the lid. The liner is Milani Liquid Eye Mechanical Eyeliner in green.

The blush is Detrivore’s Gallows, a deep pinkish red shade. I have it brushed on really lightly. The lipstick is Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Mademoiselle.

EOTD: Detrivore May Collection
Eyeshadow, Hot Lips - Comments (2) - August 8th, 2012

I feel so dumb. I took a picture of my face but forgot to take a picture of my eyes closed! Doh! BAD BEAUTY BLOGGER! But, it looked so nice, I didn’t want to waste it. I used four colors from Detrivore Cosmetics’ May LE collection, and it turned out so pretty.

First, I used Incantation on the lid. ERMAHGERD! SO PRETTY! This is a gold color with copper, pink, and gold shimmer. I about DIED when I put it on, it is that pretty. RUN AND BUY THIS COLOR RIGHT NOW. I put a dab of Mollusk in the inner corners. Mollusk is also GAAAAAH SOOOO PURRRTY. It’s a bright coral pink satin eye shadow loaded with shimmer. I used Lividity in the crease. And then my head exploded from all the awesome. Maybe that’s why I forgot to take eye pictures. My head was exploded. Anyway, Lividity is a dark pink shimmery eye shadow on a black base, and it is DA BOMB. I used Languid, a soft sheer silver satin color to highlight. Upper eyeliner is Milani’s Infinite Liquid Eyeliner in Endless (it’s a bold purple). I used more Lividity on the lower lashline.

The blush is also a new one from Detrivore. It’s Lilith, a light lilac purple blush with a tiny bit of silver shimmer. I love how soft and flattering this color is.

Today is a first! All the colors are Detrivore! The lipgloss is Lament, a rosy taupe color. It’s just the best My Lips But Better color and I love it. The formula is smooth, not too sticky, but not watery either. It’s pretty much awesome and I want to try the other colors now.

Detrivore is doing their 10 for $20 sale through 8/19, so now is a good time to grab your favorite colors. The Limited Edition colors aren’t part of the sale, but there are a ton of regular colors that are must haves. You can see more of my Detrivore looks here, or go visit Toxid Lotus or Prettymaking or Personellitea or Painted.

EOTD: She Juiced
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - May 13th, 2012

The weather has been amazing in Portland this week, so I decided to do some fun “summer” kinds of things with my makeup. This was today’s effort, involving two of my favorite colors from Silk Naturals and an awesome hot pink.

The pale gold color is Juiced, from Silk Naturals. Juiced is a pale gold with suede pearl finish, and a fair amount of gold glimmer. I used a sticky base for maximum glimmer adhesion. Heat is a deep coppery orange tone with a silky pearl finish. I put Heat in the outer corners. The hot pink color is She Bop from Madd Style Cosmetics. She Bop is a bright, deep pink color with a silvery shimmer and aqua glitter. The highlight is Kingslayer from Geek Chic Cosmetics. The eyeliner on the upper lashline is Milani’s Infinite Liquid Liner in Forever. The lower lashline is a taupe eye pencil (it’s a discontinued color).

I mixed my Lush Colour Supplement with moisturizer today rather than my usual mineral foundation. I did brush on some mattifying powder on top though. The blush is Orchid Convertible Color from Stila – which they don’t seem to carry anymore. It’s a deep plum kind of color.

The lip gloss is Gloss Pur from Yves Saint Laurent and is 04 Pure Raspberry. I don’t wear it nearly enough, it’s a fun color for summer.

EOTD: Forsaken Peepshow
Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - March 16th, 2012

I ordered some My Pretty Zombie colors for my birthday. As always, they are so pretty! I love the colors from the Limited Edition Easter set, but I wasn’t sure I’d wear all of them – so I got Peepshow by itself instead. Together with Forsaken, this came out rather nicely blue.

My sister is excited because we now have enough severed fingers to have a hand’s worth sticking out of the top of a cake. Expect zombie cake pictures soon.

Peepshow is a marshmallow white color with piles of pastel glitter. Wear with a sticky base for best glitter adherence! Forsaken is a turquoise blue, amazingly sparkly and pretty. I used Unicorn Pee (of course I did!) to highlight. All of this glittery excellence was very cheerful on a grey and gloomy day! The eyeliner is from Milani, the Liquid Eye in aqua.

The blush is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat. The lipgloss is Hibiscus from Morgana Cryptoria.

EOTD: Dolphins
Eyeshadow - Comments (3) - February 26th, 2012

Today’s eyeshadow comes from Luna’s weekly makeup challenge, and is Dolphin-themed. I personally think dolphins are pretty cool, what with being mammals and all and they’re smart. So, I’m happy to present Dolphin face!

I started by putting Crystalline from Detrivore Cosmetics in the inner corners. Crystalline is a light blue blend of mica and blue, silver, and violet shimmer. It’s so pretty, I only have a sample and I think I’m going to need to get a full-size. The outer corners are Restless, also from Detrivore. Restless is a light blue color. The crease is Gangrenous from My Pretty Zombie. Gangrenous is a dark lavender that shifts to a glossy green. It’s basically AWESOME! I love this color so much. The highlight is Nijiro from Fyrinnae. The eyeliner on the upper lashline is Milani Inifite Liquid Eyeliner in Infinite.

The blush is a discontinued color from L’Occitane. I’m wearing Bubblegum lipstick from MAC.

I’m pretty sure the upcoming week’s makeup challenge is glitter, so that’ll be fun!

EOTD: Imaginary Viola
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - February 15th, 2012

I wanted to try out another color I got recently from RockABetty Beauty, Imaginary Friend. It’s a delicious pink color! Is it possible to own too many pink colors? Naw, never mind. That’s crazy talk. Incidentally, I’ve had this song stuck in my head all day. It’s a pink, pink, pink, pink, pink moon…

Imaginary Friend is pink with silver and aqua sparkles and tons of turquoise glitter. Use it with a sticky base to really make the sparklies sparkle! I used Viola, from Brazen Cosmetics as the crease color. Viola is a brownish purple with brilliant sparkles. Depending on what you wear it with, it’ll look more or less purple. With this pink color, it’s definitely leaning more purple than brown. My Pretty Zombie’s Law Firm Lamb Cake is the highlight. The eyeliner is Milani Infinite Liquid Liner in Endless. On the lower lashline, I used Chivalry, from Morgana Cryptoria. It’s a lavender color with green sparkles.

Today’s blush is Forbidden from Silk Naturals. This is a GREAT color. I want a lip color in this color too. I’m wearing Epiphany gloss from Brazen Cosmetics. Epiphany is a clear gloss with a ton of purple shimmer. I LOVE this color. I’m so excited because I ordered Crazy Cat Lady, a Valentine’s limited edition gloss from Brazen… I love the formula!

EOTD: Hello Kitty Day
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - January 28th, 2012

My friend Luna at Toxid-Lotus issued a Makeup Challenge on her blog, so I decided it would be fun to participate. This week’s challenge is Hello Kitty. Rather than trying for classic hello kitty (which is white, red, and yellow to me) I figured I’d just shoot for cute and girly and see where I landed.

I decided to pull out lonely, forgotten makeup for this, so all the eyeshadow is Urban Decay. I have the Ammo Eyeshadow Palette, which in my opinion is still one of the best things they’ve done. 10 colors, all the best ones. This is often the only eyeshadow palette I’ll take with me if I’m traveling, because it’s so versatile. Hey, I should do a 5 Things Best Palettes post one of these days, hmmm…

Anyway. Today I used Shattered (bright green/blue shift) in the inner corners. Grifter (lavender with lots of silver microglitter) went in the middle part of the lid, as well as under the lower lashline. A dab of Last Call (plum punch) went in the outer corners. The black crease color is Oil Slick (black with silver glitter) and the highlight is Polyester Bride (white with silver glitter). I used a Milani eye pencil on the upper lashline.

With all this eye action going on, I used a soft pink powder on my cheeks. It’s actually one of the Hello Kitty MAC beauty powders, with a tiny bit of a Body Shop blush.

It seemed like bright fuchsia lips would be the thing, although now they seem a little clash-y. Oh well. The lipstick is Sephora Rouge Lips in Mr. Lover (R10). It’s a great formula and color, nonetheless.

Right now, I’m blonde. It’s not my favorite thing. I bleached my hair yesterday, and then decided I should get a haircut BEFORE re-dyeing it purple so the stylist wouldn’t have purple hands from the dye. She thanked me, lol, but I didn’t feel like sitting with dye on my hair for hours today so I’m still blonde. Maybe tomorrow I’ll feel like doing it…
