EOTD: Blind Daydream
Cheap Thrills, Eyeshadow - Comments Off - November 17th, 2011

I haven’t used these in a long time, so today I busted out some new school Hard Candy eyeshadows. I have two of the baked eyeshadow duos, Blind Date and Daydream.

Blind Date is a bright white and candy pink duo. Daydream is more of a pink-mauve and silver duo. I haven’t used them together before, so I figured what the hey. The baked eyeshadows are a pretty nice formula – sometimes baked shadows are so dry, they’re hard to use. Not so with these. It’s easy to pick up color on the brush and easy to get decent color without spending an age building it up, on the skin. At $6 each, they’re a good value, even if you have to go to Wal-mart to buy them.

I put the candy pink from Blind Date in the inner corners of the lid, and the mauve from Daydream in the outer corners. The silver from Daydream is in the crease, and the bright white from Blind Date is the highlighter. I’m wearing a pale purple eye pencil from Essence. I have a love/hate relationship with this eye pencil. It’s very soft, so it applies pretty easily, but if I sharpen it to a point it breaks off. Bah humbug! I used a pale pink eyeliner on the lower lashline. I’m not sure how I feel about it. I think I prefer dark eyeliner, just in general.

I’m wearing a MAC blush, and Morgana Cryptoria’s Lip Balm in Hibiscus. Best pale pink ever.

Here’s a bonus Theo picture. He was snoozing all day, and I got a lot of snuggles.

EOTD: Scarlet Lemonade
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - November 8th, 2011

This is actually from Sunday, when I felt like “dressing up” a bit, because well, it was Sunday! LOL. I wanted to use pink and red, so I grabbed Sinister Scarlet from Morgana Cryptoria and Pink Lemonade from Hi-Fi Cosmetics. I haven’t actually used Pink Lemonade before, so I wanted to play with it.

Sinister Scarlet is a dark red color, not quite maroon. It has a nice sheen to it. Pink Lemonade is a shimmering pink with golden lemony sparkle. It’s quite sparkly. I like it a lot! I’ve read that Hi-Fi has improved their turn-around and customer service issues, so perhaps I’ll order again from them. I used Detrivore’s Lobotomy to highlight.

I am dumb and can’t remember what blush I used, but I do remember that I put Silk Naturals’ Heavenly Glow on top. It looks really dark on their website, but went on quite sheer with a big fluffy brush. My lip color is Morgana Cryptoria Amaranth Lip Balm.

EOTD: Theo Tank
Eyeshadow - Comments (4) - November 2nd, 2011

Today I was planning on meeting my husband and his mom for lunch, so I decided something a little more subtle was called for. I used my beloved Theo from Black Rose Minerals and Tank Girl from Madd Style Cosmetics. Subtle, but still fun with all that green going on.

Theo, besides being the BEST COLOR EVER, is a light fawn with a green duochrome and green sparkles. Tank Girl is army green with hot pink and kelly green glitter. I didn’t use a sticky base, so the glitter is less apparent – you can still see it though, I used the slightly out of focus shot to make it show up in the picture. I used Detrivore’s Lobotomy to highlight.

I have Morgana Cryptoria Fallen Leaves Lipgloss on my lips. Love this color! I got compliments on the lipgloss today.

As a bonus today, here’s a shot of Theo being really cute.

EOTD: Defenestrate In A Flash
Complexion, Eyeshadow - Comments (5) - October 26th, 2011

I ordered some more goodies from Silk Naturals, and they came! Shipping was very fast, I am impressed. Among other things, I ordered Defenestrate, because the color looks awesome and I like the name. Today I used it with Flash because I thought they’d look pretty together.

Defenestrate (which means to throw something out a window) is a reddish plum color with coppery golden hightlights. It is so pretty!! I used it together with Flash, a shimmery light sand color. I love how it turned out! I’m using Detrivore’s Lobotomy to highlight.

On my cheeks I have Silk Naturals’ blush in Babydoll. One thing is different today, I’m wearing liquid foundation instead of my usual powder mineral makeup. I realized I have almost an entire bottle of my favorite Chanel Pro Lumiere that really needs to get used, so I’m going to be alternating it with my powder.

I’m wearing Morgana Cryptoria Galaxy lip balm, and totally got a compliment at the bank on it. Yay for fun lip colors!

EOTD: Zombie Unicorn
Eyeshadow, Hot Lips - Comments (2) - October 20th, 2011

It’s my day off, so… FUN DAY! I used another new color from Evil Shades, and decided to get silly with my lips too. This is a good Halloween face… In addition to Evil Shades, I also used My Pretty Zombie, Morgana Cryptoria, Detrivore Cosmetics, and Fyrinnae. These are all awesome spooky-themed companies, now that I think about it…

The eyes are Zombie Girl from Evil Shades and Unicorn Pee from My Pretty Zombie. Zombie Girl is a zombie green with a pink shift. I forgot about the pink shift when I put it on – next time I’m using this with a PINK color! Regardless, it still looks awesome with Unicorn Pee, that iridescent white blue with enough multi colored glitter to make you puke! Oh how I love this color and all that glitter.

On my cheeks, I mixed Detrivore’s Poison blush with Morgana Cryptoria’s Mysterious Veil. Instant green shift! I need to get a full size of the Veil, since I’m using it all the time now.

My lips are a mix of Evil Shades’ Dragons Wing Hardcore Lips with Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Ultra Phantom. Ultra Phantom is a sheer aqua sparkle that turns to pink in different light or angles. It leans aqua on me. Dragons Wing dragon scale green with subtle gold shimmer and a silver to teal shift. I wanted to make Dragons Wing a little bit silvery, which I think I’ve accomplished. I think green is my new favorite “unusual” lip color – it looks better on me than blue.

What do you think of green lip colors?

EOTD: Pestilence X
Eyeshadow, Hot Lips - Comments Off - October 15th, 2011

I LOVE Meow Cosmetics’ Halloween offerings. Every year, I can’t wait to see what they come out with, because it knocks my socks off every time. This year is no different!

I ordered a slew of samples on their last sale, and haven’t had time to do any swatching. But I did use two colors yesterday, which I present to you here. They are fabulous! I used Mothman from the X collection, and Pestilence from the Four Horsemen. Spooky goodness!

Mothman is a metallic iridescent taupe with forest green undertones. Ooooh. It’s similar to my beloved Theo, but quite a bit darker. I don’t think I’ll get a full size, just because it is so similar and Theo is more versatile. Pestilence is an intense brilliant gleaming emerald green. I probably won’t get a full size, just because I don’t wear dark colors like this very often, but if you like dark greens, it’s totally worth it.

I’m wearing Detrivore’s Thing blush with just a tiny hint of Bloodbath on top. The lipgloss is Morgana Cryptoria Falling Leaves. I feel very autumnal with this makeup!

EOTD: Zombiefied Tourniquet
Complexion, Eyeshadow, Hot Lips - Comments (6) - October 7th, 2011

In honor of it being October, today I busted out the orange colors for maximum fun. I used Evil Shades’ Zombified, and Black Rose Minerals’ Tourniquet, both from their respective Halloween collections. My most recent Morgana Cryptoria order arrived, so I also put on the new gloss in Fallen Leaves.

Zombiefied is an awesome metallic orange with soft pink shimmer. As oranges go, it’s very wearable. I love the pink shimmer (it doesn’t show up in the picture, of course) but it’s there and it’s so pretty. Tourniquet is a metallic gold in a black base with a hint of a green highlight. The fact that it has a black base, but isn’t necessarily a black color makes it very easy to work with. Also, like a lot of colors with black in them, it isn’t chalky at all. I really like it a lot!!

On my cheeks is Evil Shades’ blush in Atomic. Atomic is a hot orange blush with a blue shift. It looks orangier than it really is in the picture, and the blue shift is more noticeable in real life. It’s a great color, I love it.

Morgana Cryptoria’s new glosses are out, and I ordered Fallen Leaves. It’s a red-brown with an intense green sheen that changes blue-green & red-violet. I don’t have anything like this color, and I’m in love. It’s great for fall! I love how moisturizing the formula is, and how pigmented.

Are you excited for fall and Halloween?

EOTD: Emerald Theo
Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - September 30th, 2011

I am so happy to have my Theo from Black Rose Minerals that I busted out another favorite green color of mine, Morgana Cryptoria’s Enchanted Emerald to wear with it. It IS easy being green!

Theo (in case you don’t remember) is my dream eyeshadow color, a light fawn with a green duochrome and green sparkles. LOVE. Enchanted Emerald is a deep green that shifts to grey with a copper sheen. Together, they form an amazing combination of HAPPY on my eyelids.

The blush color is Thing from Detrivore Cosmetics. Pretty sure the lips are MAC Blooming Lovely. (Need to write these things down!)
