EOTD: Homunculus MDMA
Eyeshadow - Comments (3) - November 24th, 2012
Since it’s the weekend, and I haven’t worn Oh Hey Let’s Go Nuts With Sparkles eyeshadow in ages, I decided to bust out some bright colors and have a little fun today. I’m wearing MDMA from My Pretty Zombie with Homunculus from Shiro Cosmetics, and I think they look nice together!
MDMA is a rosy pink with gold afterglow, and it’s really stunning. It’s one of my favorite pink colors. Homunculus is a shimmery dark grey base with bright sparks of red. I’m addicted to Shiro’s dark gray/charcoal colors for their richness and ease of application. I used Unicorn Pee to highlight, because I wanted all those crazy rainbow sparkles. I used Pixy Epoxy underneath it all to make it stick. The eyeliner is L’Oreal HiP Color Chrome Eyeliner in Black Shock. I also applied more Homunculus to the lower lashline.
The blush is from Silk Naturals, it’s Guava. Guava is a sheer, nude mauve blush. The lipgloss is L’Oreal Infallible Lipgloss in Suede – one of my favorite colors from L’Oreal.
EOTD: A Meow Two-fer
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - October 25th, 2012
I’m a little behind on posting my EOTDs. Whoops. Life, how does it work? Anyway, I have two looks using Meow Cosmetics’ Autumn-y stuff, so I figured I’d kill two birds with one stone and post them together. Unfortunately, I didn’t take good notes so I don’t remember what all exactly I used. Bad Claire!
The first is Meow’s Xenophobe with Bad Luck. Xenophobe is a shimmery khaki/taupe with gray undertones, and it’s super pretty! Bad Luck is a golden bronzed toffee with orange iridescence twinged with warm russet undertones. I really like this color, and I’m tempted to get a full size. I can’t remember which Detrivore blush I’m wearing, but I think it’s Lascivious. The lipstick is MAC Bubblegum.
This second look is Meow’s Lunation and Autumnal. Lunation is a metallic umber/cinnamon with gold iridescence. Autumnal is a warm bronzed amber with golden iridescence. I’m really happy with both these colors. The whole Harvest Moon collection is really pretty! It’s got some nice Fall colors.
The blush is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat. The lipgloss is Silk Naturals Kisser Slicker in Sugar.
Meow has a 15% off sale going on right now and all the Halloween stuff will be disappearing after October 31st!
EOTD: Sinister Burial
Eyeshadow - Comments (4) - October 17th, 2012
Luna, from Toxid-Lotus, asked me to use Sinister Urge and Premature Burial from Black Rose Minerals together, to see how they look. Being the ever-so-helpful gal that I am, I was happy to oblige. So, I present to you SINISTER BURIAL with a dash of FAYE!

Sinister Urge, a light blue with a red sheen, is the lid color. Hoo boy, is this one pretty. I just love this color. The crease color is Premature Burial, an earthy brown with pink and gold sparkles. It takes on an almost purple-y look when paired with blue. I used Faye, a light and airy yellow with a delicate red duochrome highlight, in the inner corners and under the browbone. I LOVE FAYE. I used a damp brush with more Premature Burial to line the upper and lower lashlines.
The blush is Bare Escentuals Secret. The lipgloss is Silk Naturals’ Kisser Slicker in Sugar.
EOTD: Gray Glory

I seem to be drawn to the same colors, over and over again. I actually started a spreadsheet to keep track of what I own (both eyeshadow samples and full sizes) because I kept ordering duplicates – especially with Meow Cosmetics. But a spreadsheet only works if you consult it before hitting the order button. Which is all a roundabout way of saying I placed an order with Meow on Columbus Day and managed to order THREE duplicate samples. DOOOOOH! The good news I like the colors a lot and I’m not sad to have duplicates.
My husband suggested I wear some “sparkly browns” to match the blouse I was wearing, so I was happy to take his suggestion. I used Glory, from Silk Naturals, on the lid. Glory has a base of taupe with golden highlights, that’s punctuated with glints of green, copper, peach, and gold. It is SUPER PRETTY, especially with a sticky base like Pixie Epoxy. I used Gray Matter, from Meow Cosmetics, in the crease. I now own TWO samples of Gray Matter, so it’s a good thing I REALLY like the color. Gray Matter is a sparkly mauve gray with hot cherry sheen. I used Garland, a Bare Escentuals color, to highlight the inner corners and under the browbone. Using a damp brush, I lined the upper and lower lashlines with Badger, from Shiro Cosmetics.
The blush is Bloodbath, from Detrivore Cosmetics. The lipstick is L’Oreal Colour Riche in Chocolate Spice.
Gray Matter is from Meow Cosmetics’ Alien Abduction collection, which will disappear after Halloween!
EOTD: Premature Sushi

Continuing with my (sort-of) theme to use colors from various Halloween collections, I wanted to use some Black Rose Minerals colors today. I used one of the colors, Premature Burial, from A Collection of the Perverse, which is a striking collection inspired by Edgar Allen Poe.
Premature Burial is an earthy brown glistening with pink and gold sparkles. EET’S SO PRETTY!! I am such a sucker for pretty brown colors. The lid color is Sushi, from the Meow Meow Meow collection. Sushi is a light beige color with purple/lavender sparkles. It leans a little on the peach side of beige. If you like neutrals, you should get the whole Meow Meow Meow collection because it’s neutral heaven. Also, two of the cats are mine, lol. I put Bare Escentuals’ Firelight, a creamy buttercup shimmer, in the inner corners and under the brow bone. The eyeliner is The eyeliner is Victoria’s Secret Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate.
The blush is Black Rose Minerals’ Radical, a coral pink with golden shine. It’s a great color. The lip color is from Silk Naturals. It’s the Kisser Slicker gloss in Foreplay.
EOTD: Flash Accident
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - October 10th, 2012
Since it’s available for purchase now, I wanted to to show off another cool Meow Cosmetics color from the Friday the 13th collection: Accident. I used it with one of my favorite Silk Naturals colors and a new blush from Detrivore Cosmetics.
Accident is a metallic copper shade with a dark undertone and gleaming metallic iridescent fire. It’s really, really pretty. If I can scrape up the dough, I want to get this in a full size before the end of the month. BTW, if any of the Friday the 13th colors appeal, get ‘em before the end of October because you’ll have to wait until September 2013 before it’ll be back again. Flash, from Silk Naturals, is one of those great neutral colors with lots of shimmer. It’s a complex gold color with a hint of silver and diamond pearl. It pairs nicely with a variety of colors, so it’s a good neutral to have in your collection. I use Peepshow from My Pretty Zombie in the inner corners and under the browbone. The eyeliner is from L’Oreal, a discontinued burgundy color.
Detrivore’s two new blush shades are awesomely awesome. I’ll admit, they look pretty “meh” in the jar. But put them on, and they are just wonderfully flattering and subtle. They are perfect for anyone who wants easy-to-wear, subtle colors that enhance your complexion. Criminal, what I’m wearing here, is just a subtle flush of color. It is a great everyday goes with everything kind of blush.
The lip color is Nars lipgloss in Rose Birman.
EOTD: Theo Meow
Eyeshadow - Comments (1) - July 21st, 2012
Meow Cosmetics is doing a Xmas in July thing for a limited time, so I wanted to use a color from one of the Xmas collections. Meow Mistletoe is one of their best-selling holiday colors, for good reason! I used it with Theo, my beloved shade from Black Rose Minerals.
I used Theo on the lid. Theo is a light fawn with a green duochrome and green sparkles. The crease color is Meow Mistletoe, a glistening kelly green aglow with gold sparkle! I used Skelecat, a Meow Halloween color, to highlight in the inner corners and under the browbone. Skelecat is a white with gold and green iridescence. The eyeliner is from Meow’s Caribbean Escape Feliner collection. It’s Seasick, an intense teal glistening with aqua sparkle and green iridescence. I used it wet, with a fine brush.
Instead of regular blush, I used a Meow Crystalline Cat Glow Powder in Topaz on my cheeks instead. Topaz is a peachy color.
The lip color is from Silk Naturals. It’s the Foreplay Kisser Slicker gloss.
EOTD: She Juiced
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - May 13th, 2012
The weather has been amazing in Portland this week, so I decided to do some fun “summer” kinds of things with my makeup. This was today’s effort, involving two of my favorite colors from Silk Naturals and an awesome hot pink.
The pale gold color is Juiced, from Silk Naturals. Juiced is a pale gold with suede pearl finish, and a fair amount of gold glimmer. I used a sticky base for maximum glimmer adhesion. Heat is a deep coppery orange tone with a silky pearl finish. I put Heat in the outer corners. The hot pink color is She Bop from Madd Style Cosmetics. She Bop is a bright, deep pink color with a silvery shimmer and aqua glitter. The highlight is Kingslayer from Geek Chic Cosmetics. The eyeliner on the upper lashline is Milani’s Infinite Liquid Liner in Forever. The lower lashline is a taupe eye pencil (it’s a discontinued color).
I mixed my Lush Colour Supplement with moisturizer today rather than my usual mineral foundation. I did brush on some mattifying powder on top though. The blush is Orchid Convertible Color from Stila – which they don’t seem to carry anymore. It’s a deep plum kind of color.
The lip gloss is Gloss Pur from Yves Saint Laurent and is 04 Pure Raspberry. I don’t wear it nearly enough, it’s a fun color for summer.
