EOTD: Premature Sushi
Eyeshadow - Be the first to comment! - October 11th, 2012

Continuing with my (sort-of) theme to use colors from various Halloween collections, I wanted to use some Black Rose Minerals colors today. I used one of the colors, Premature Burial, from A Collection of the Perverse, which is a striking collection inspired by Edgar Allen Poe.

Premature Burial is an earthy brown glistening with pink and gold sparkles. EET’S SO PRETTY!! I am such a sucker for pretty brown colors. The lid color is Sushi, from the Meow Meow Meow collection. Sushi is a light beige color with purple/lavender sparkles. It leans a little on the peach side of beige. If you like neutrals, you should get the whole Meow Meow Meow collection because it’s neutral heaven. Also, two of the cats are mine, lol. I put Bare Escentuals’ Firelight, a creamy buttercup shimmer, in the inner corners and under the brow bone. The eyeliner is The eyeliner is Victoria’s Secret Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate.

The blush is Black Rose Minerals’ Radical, a coral pink with golden shine. It’s a great color. The lip color is from Silk Naturals. It’s the Kisser Slicker gloss in Foreplay.

EOTD: Green Glamour Travel
Eyeshadow - Be the first to comment! - September 14th, 2012

I love to bring Cargo’s Green Glamour Kit when I travel, because it has pretty much every color I might want to use. It’s really sad that they have apparently discontinued it! I’m glad I snatched it up when I did, because it’s become one of the most-used palettes I own.

Today I used Parakeet on the lid. Parakeet is a coppery color. I used Bamboo, a warm brown color, in the crease. I put Pelican, a pale champagne color, in the inner corners and the browbone. The eyeliner is Victoria’s Secret Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate. This is hands down my favorite brown eyeliner pencil.

I used Detrivore Cosmetics’ blush in Thing. Thing is SO FLATTERING, it’s a must-have color for sure. The lip color is Tokidoki Gelato Lip Balm Stain in Donutella. Tokidoki is being discontinued from Sephora stores, but some stores may have stock left. If you see these Gelato Lip Balm Stains in person, snag a few. I absolutely adore the two shades I have.

EOTD: Travel In The Comfort Zone
Cheap Thrills, Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - September 13th, 2012

I bumped into some swatches/looks with the Wet N’ Wild Comfort Zone palette a few weeks ago, and decided that for $4.99, I SERIOUSLY needed to buy this palette. Talk about your cheap thrills!! Nouveau Cheap has some photos of it here. As an aside, I really need to get my hands on the Petal Pusher palette she uses in her post! I added Comfort Zone to my last Drugstore.com order (because I needed to throw something in for free shipping), but as a word of warning, this isn’t the best idea. The top right color broke up in transit, cue sad face now. Just trot yourself down to your nearest drugstore and buy it there instead.

ANYWAY. Today I tried out the left side colors, and I think it came out quite nice. Considering how freaking CHEAP this palette is, I’m pretty impressed with the formula. It does not suck. I pretty much followed the guidelines, so the eyelid shade went on the eyelid, the crease in the crease, and the browbone on the browbone and inner corners. I did add a little of the definer to the crease to kick it up a notch, though. The eyeliner is Victoria’s Secret Makeup eyeliner in Chocolate.

I used Detrivore Cosmetics’ blush in Thing. The lipstick is Ever Hip from MAC.

I’m pretty happy about this palette. The colors have worn perfectly over UDPP, no fading or creasing, despite my doing a lot of outdoor activities today.

EOTD: Baker’s Mew
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - June 18th, 2012

I haven’t used my Shiro Cosmetics pretties enough lately, so today’s makeup uses Shiro! I had a doctor appointment, so I kept it on the more neutral side, with a hit of pink to keep it fun.

The inner corners are Baker’s Boy. Baker’s Boy is a shimmery light golden brown with blue sparks. It’s so pretty! It’s definitely a great neutral color. The outer corners are Mew, a pretty pink color that’s discontinued. (Awww.) The crease is There Will Be Cake, a shimmery chocolate brown with cherry sparks. This is a great brown color! The cherry sparks are fun, and it ties well with the pinky Mew. I forgot to use a highlight (derp!). The eyeliner is VS Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate.

The blush is Detrivore Cosmetics’ Indecent. Indecent is a deep vivid pink matte blush. I felt like being sparkly-ish today so I brushed a little bit of green hilite on top. The lipgloss is from L’Occitane, a discontinued pomegranate color.

EOTD: Tiger Lily Valley
Cat, Complexion, Eyeshadow - Be the first to comment! - June 17th, 2012

Rosa, the sweetheart who owns Black Rose Minerals heard Tiger Lily (Theo’s fur-sister) was jealous that Theo had his own eyeshadow color. After all, she’s the princess in the household. So Rosa made Tiger Lily, this absolutely beautiful color. It’s sweet but fierce, just like my kitteh.

Tiger Lily is a neutral peachy tan with just a touch of pinky red sparkles. I used it over Pixie Epoxy to really make the sparkles stick. I wore it with Death Valley, another new color I bought recently. Death Valley is a deep metallic bronze with just a touch of pink glitter. I love the pink glitter in this color! I used Lobotomy from Detrivore to highlight. The eyeliner is from VS Makeup, in Dark Chocolate.

Black Rose Minerals is offering blush now, so of course I had to try it! I picked out Radical, a sweet coral pink with a touch of golden shine. It’s so pretty! The lip color is Budding Beauty Lipgelee from MAC.

Of course, I had to include a picture of the girl herself – this is Tiger Lily, aka Tigsy!

EOTD: Theo Thundernuts
Eyeshadow - Comments (2) - May 12th, 2012

I’ve been feeling like wearing more neutral colors lately, but not too neutral. I used my beloved Theo with Thundernuts from My Pretty Zombie, because both have some fun colored sparkles going on.

Theo, from Black Rose Minerals, is a light fawn with a green duochrome and green sparkles. You can now buy Theo in a super-awesome collection! Thundernuts is a light brown with a blue shift (it sparkles too!). Use a sticky base for maximum sparklage from both these colors. I used Divinity from Persephone Minerals to highlight. The eyeliner is VS Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate.

The blush color is Clotted and Thing, both from Detrivore Cosmetics, mixed together. The lipstick is Funbathing from MAC.

EOTD: Death Wraith Vulture
Eyeshadow - Be the first to comment! - May 6th, 2012

Yesterday I used Detrivore Cosmetics to create a fun neutral with a twist look. I was going to the Cinco de Mayo celebration on Portland’s waterfront with my grandma and dad and stepmom and wanted to look nice! I think it came out good!

The inner half of the lid is Vulture. Vulture is a light taupe brown satin eye shadow filled with shimmer. It’s a darker taupe than others I own, so it’s nice if you want something with more impact. I used Wraith in the outer corners. Wraith is a dark brown eye shadow with golden and copper shimmer. I used Death Valley in the upper part of the crease to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to this otherwise neutral look. Death Valley is a deep pink eye shadow that is very shimmery. I used Pixie Epoxy underneath to help all those shimmers really stick. Lobotomy is the highlight. I’m really happy with how it came out! The eyeliner is VS Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate.

The blush is Detrivore Cosmetics’ Indecent. Indecent is a matte deep vivid pink blush. I’m wearing L’Oreal Infallible Plumping Gloss in Plumped Brown.

Who’s Got The Moxie?
Etsy, Eyeshadow, Hot Lips - Be the first to comment! - January 29th, 2011

I did a fun look for work today, it being a Friday and all. I decided to have fun with Moxie, an AWESOME hot pink color from Vicious Cosmetics. It’s a beast to photograph just how AWESOME it is, so you’ll have to take my word for it.

Moxie has a cool blue sparkle to it, not unlike the blue sparkle in one of my favorite Fyrinnae lip colors (that would be Puppy Love). I wore it with a mauvey-beige color, but I think it would be fabulous with a shell pink too.

Vicious Shadows wear really, really wear – very little fading after 10+ hours of wear over primer. I did touch up my makeup for these pictures, since it’s been more like 12 hours since I did my makeup this morning.

Eyes: Vicious Cosmetics Moxie, Aromaleigh Angel Bouquet, Fyrinnae Nijiro, Victoria’s Secret eyeliner (discontinued, it’s a purple with sparkle), Maybelline One By One Volum’Express Mascara. Cheeks: Larenim Blush in Forbidden Flush.

Lips: Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Puppy Love.

Moxie is on my list of full-size shadows that are must haves!
